Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Pauses Trade with Russia – Joins List of Global Automakers Suspending Relations with Moscow

In response to Russian Attack on Ukraine, Global corporations are freezing their relations with Rusia. Major Global Automakers have announced their decision to severe and suspend their operations in Russia.    JAGUAR Land Rover is latest in the list. JLR has halted delivery of vehicles into Russia where it has significant presence and have sold 7000 cars during the preceding year in 2021.

As international sanctions are picking up the pace with a clear-cut intention to isolate the Moscow, Global Auto giants are also joining the increasing list of corporations, severing their relations with Moscow

JLR is owned by Indian conglomerate Tata, through its subsidiary Tata Motors.  JLR spokesperson has cited the trading challenge due to which delivery is being paused to Russian Markets. Company also said that company is continually monitoring the situation on behalf of its customers which are spread Globally.

Move has been welcomed by the British Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Kwasi Kwarteng. British Government has laid down unprecedented sanction on Russia in order to isolate it and weak it economically.

Daimler Truck has halted operations in the country, including its partnership with Russian truck manufacturer Kamaz.

According to the company, no more trucks will be constructed under Daimler’s joint venture with Kamaz, and no more components will be delivered to it. Daimler stated on Twitter that the company will abide by all German government and EU regulations.

Earlier Volvo has also made its position clear regarding suspension of its trade ties with Russia. Company has stated that business would be halted in Russia. Volvo decision is based on the trading challenges following sanction by US & EU.
