This is the first bilateral agreement between the United States and Mexico for peaceful nuclear cooperation. According to a press release issued by the US Department of State, the two countries have had 80 years of peaceful nuclear cooperation, and the Agreement will lead to the continuation and advancement of US civil nuclear trade with Mexico.
