Valeo and Atul Auto has joined hands for seeking synergies in electrification of three wheelers

In accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed by Valeo, Atul Greentech Private Limited, the producer of electric three-wheelers, and Honda Powerpack Energy Private Limited, the supplier of swappable batteries, Valeo will supply the electric powertrains and powertrain control unit for Atul’s electric three-wheelers to work with Honda’s swappable battery system.

From low to high voltage, Valeo offers the whole range of electric powertrain solutions. Its technologies drive anything from luxury automobiles and SUVs to two- and three-wheel urban vehicles. At its manufacturing location in Pune, Maharashtra, Valeo produces electric powertrain units in India.

For Atul’s upcoming cargo and passenger three-wheeler, which will be unveiled in India soon, Valeo will supply its 48V integrated compact electric powertrain system as well as the Powertrain Control Unit. In addition, Valeo’s experts will provide the technical integration support to help Atul go to market swiftly using Honda’s swappable battery.

Valeo is present in India since 1997, Valeo has created a very significant foothold in the country over the previous 20 years. Eight production sites, a global R&D facility, five distribution platforms, and a front office for serving Valeo customers in India. He said that tri-party engagement between Atul Greentech Private Limited, Honda Powerpack Energy Private Limited, and Valeo brings domain expertise together to accelerate three-wheeler electrification in both the passenger and cargo segments. He emphasized that relationship will be strengthened by Valeo’s cutting-edge CO2-reducing technologies, solid engineering, and local manufacturing know-how in areas like the quickly expanding Indian market.
