Westinghouse & Bechtel Collaboration – Supporting Civil Nuclear Power Program in the Czech Republic

Two of the top U.S. businesses in the worldwide nuclear sector are Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company.

Representatives from 55 Czech enterprises attended a event held by the Westinghouse-Bechtel collaboration to examine ways to promote the growth of the civil nuclear power programme in the Czech Republic.

A Westinghouse-Bechtel collaboration put out a plan in November to build one Westinghouse AP1000 unit at the Dukovany nuclear plant, the most cutting-edge, operational nuclear reactor in the world, with the possibility of adding two units at the Temelin nuclear site.

The Czech Republic has made a commitment to lowering carbon emissions and its reliance on coal and other fossil fuels while meeting rising energy demand, according to Ahmet Tokpinar, general manager of Bechtel’s Nuclear Power business line.

Westinghouse and Bechtel are dedicated to the Czech Republic, according to U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic Bijan Sabet. For more than 70 years, they have collaborated to make sure nuclear power assets are successfully delivered in the effort to create a reliable and sustainable energy infrastructure.

Earlier in 2021, Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company collaborated to explore the possibility of building additional nuclear power plants in Poland.
